Bobbye Brown's Gallery
The Bead Lady
In years past, Bobbye created knitted and crocheted dolls and pincushions. One day she saw a book on African dolls that showed beads on the doll and costume. Bobbye decided she could do that too, and went to Daisy Kingdom, where she found the doll body. She took a class from the Daisy Kindom's original 'Bead Lady' (a.k.a. Carol Perrenoud). Bobbye brought examples of her crocheted and bead-accented message pouches that contained personal messages for the recipients. Eventually, Bobbye put the messages on a bead within the pouches. Her favorite techniques are peyote and off loom beadweaving. Bobbye's display included beaded hats, pouches and examples of stitches learned from Carol and other instructors.
