Leroy is probably best known for his "Coiling Gizmo", a tool he invented that will turn plain wire into beautiful jewelry components. He has appeared on the HGTV's Carol Duvall show, and shows his work in many galleries around the Northwest. For his "Spotlight", he chose to bring some of his glass work.

When Leroy was in high school, his uncle did lampwork, then 10 yrs later, while Leroy was teaching at MacLaren School, one of his students did a lampworking demo. Leroy decided to try it, got equipment, quit teaching, has been self-employed since then. He ultimately began working with glass in 1971, and started casting bronze in 1991.

Leroy's style is simple but elegant, not too fussy and his favorite materials today are clay and wax. His specialty is abstract forms
