NEW LIBRARY BOOKS

LIBRARY USAGE PROCEDURES

The PBS Library is a tremendous resource available for current members to use. We have books, magazines, and videos galore on bead art ... beading how-tos…bead history ... bead style & design ... and much, much more. Use your new Membership Card to check out books at our new library location!

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

Members must present their current PBS Membership ID card. Pig and Panda (P&P) will verify the back of the card for member’s signature indicating agreement with library policy. Maximum # of books, magazines, or videos checked out is 5 (five) total, including a maximum of 2 (two) videos per checkout*. The check-out period is for up to 1 (one) month. PBS Members – P & P will provide you with a list/printout of your checkout items and DUE DATE. Please make sure that you take this printout with you when you leave the library. Renewals - Items may be renewed for a maximum of 1 (one) additional month but must be brought back to the library for re-check out.

*Items marked “REFERENCE ONLY” are not available for checkout; they are available to read in the library only.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Return items directly to P & P personnel during open hours. Do not drop off on doorstep. Items must go thru check-in by P&P first. Return books/videos to shelves. Please shelve them alphabetically and according to topic labels on the bookshelves.

OVERDUE BOOKS AND VIDEOS

Fines will be assessed for overdue items and must be paid upon return. All items are considered OVERDUE past 1 (one) month from the initial check-out date. Thereafter, within each 2 (two) week interval, an additional $1 per book/magazine and $2 per videotape/DVD will be charged. (For example, if you are 1 – 14 days overdue, the fine is $1 per book/magazine; if 15-21 days overdue, the fine is $2 per book/magazine, etc.) Members with overdue or lost items are ineligible for further check-out of items until fines are fully paid.

A list of overdue and lost titles with member names will be included in the PBS newsletter.

All items will be considered LOST past 3 months from initial check-out date and the retail cost of replacement will be assessed to the PBS member. If items are no longer available, the current retail value of the item will be owed. If fines assessed are not paid, PBS membership renewal will not be accepted.
