2008 Beading Project “A
Primary Challenge” Packet contains 100 grams size 11 seed
beads. 20 grams each in five opaque, matte
colors: yellow/blue/red/black/off-white Participants must use a
minimum of four colors from the packet.
Participants may add 50%
“other” beads in addition to those used from the packet. Animal, vegetable or mineral fiber, as
well as silver and
gold beads, wire, and findings are also
acceptable. Additional beads are to be identical in
color to seeds. Since it will be difficult to
match finishes, additional beads larger than size 11 seeds
may be any material and surface finish as
long as the color is the same as beads provided. The challenge, here, is two fold: (a) to match materials color for color and
(b) to make four or five stark colors behave in the same piece without benefit
of “transitional” hues like yellow-orange, or greenish blue. Order packets for $5 plus shipping from orders@beadcats.com phone 503-625-2323 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST Seed stock number: warm yellow opaque matte 2.11.451.13 royal blue opaque matte 2.11.611.13 light red opaque matte 2.11.212.15 black opaque matte 2.11.999.13 cream opaque matte 2.11.063.13 Challenge limited to PBS Retreat
attendees. Challenge Coordinator Jody Taylor pbschallenge@comcast.net Note:
the red in this packet is a red-orange, not a true fully-saturated
primary red. We scoured the countryside looking for a
bluish red in opaque matte. Alas, Fata
Obstant. The gods willed otherwise……… Rise to the Challenge!
